Contemporary Service for Tweens and Teens 5:00 p.m.
On September 28, we will worship at "the 5" together and celebrate the last 5:00 p.m. worship service.
Q. Why is the 5:00 p.m. worship service ending?
A. For the past five years, the service has become less effective in reaching out to the community around us. Since 2003, many people who once attended the 5:00 p.m. began worshiping at the morning services. We changed the focus last year to try to revive the service, but it didn't take.
Q. What about the approximately 15 people who exclusively attend the 5:00 p.m. now?
A. Some of them have recently decided to begin worshiping in the morning; the others understand and agree it's no longer working, and it's time to close the service.
Q. Is this a loss for St. Timothy’s?
A. It is the end of a chapter for St. Timothy's and is bittersweet for those who first came through the 5:00 p.m. But with any end comes a new beginning. The 5:00 p.m. served its purpose for its time, and we are glad for the effective and innovative ways it reached out to the community.
Q. Can I come and celebrate?
A. Yes, please. Come and worship at the last 5:00 p.m. with us. Afterwards we'll share thanksgivings and cake.
