We welcome you to join us in a food drive to support Santa Maria Urban Ministry, a community service agency in San Jose with which St. Tim’s has had a long relationship.
For the next two weeks, we are focusing our food collection on healthy snacks for children (especially teens) who will be on their Spring Break right after Easter.
When the schools close down, access to the breakfast and lunch offerings are reduced and it is apparent that teens are more reluctant to participate. We have also been told by the Operations Manager at SMUM that donations of cereal, peanut butter and SMALL bottles of cooking oil are gratefully received.
Suggested healthy snack donations include snack bars, raisins, cranraisins, other dried fruit, fruit leather, etc. Please bring your donations to the back of the church.
As you drop off your donations, we will have the “tree” on which there will be the opportunity to hang “ornaments” (with pictures of apples, plums and apricots, honoring the newly-planted fruit trees at St. Tim’s by Dave Wilde) and pictures of oil, peanut butter and cereal. We hope that the tree will be well – decorated as we celebrate Easter together on April 5th.
