Serve at St. Tim’s
At St. Tim’s, we recognize that our community only exists because we all participate; we create church together.
We seek to be intentional about sustaining our common life, giving back of our time, energy, and passion to build a place where all can thrive. There are many ways to serve at St. Timothy’s:
In Worship
- Preparing the space with the altar guild
- Serving as lector (reader), usher (greeter), acolyte, or lay eucharistic minister
- Offering vocal and musical gifts with our choir and band
- Arranging flowers
- Running the sound and streaming technology
With Hospitality
- Preparing or cleaning up from Coffee Hour
- Setting up or bringing food for Wednesday Night Dinners
- Organizing special events, such as Shrove Tuesday, a Pentecost cookout, or the St. Nicholas Festival
In Leadership
- Serving on the Vestry
- Working with the Finance Team
- Standing as a delegate to diocesan convention
- Chairing the stewardship team
- Safeguarding donations as a teller
Sharing in Formation
- Teaching our young people in Godly Play or Double Digits
- Serving as the second adult in a classroom or nursery
- Participating in Bible studies, retreats, or Education for Ministry
- Volunteering for our annual Summer Camp
Tending our Campus
- Working on the Facilities Team
- Caring for our gardens with the Lay Weeders
- Showing up to parish work days
Offering Pastoral Care
- Joining Prayer Journey
- Bringing Communion to the sick as a Lay Eucharistic Visitor
- Becoming a trained Stephen Minister
