April Vestry Notes

leadership body of lay leaders

The April Vestry meeting began with our opening prayer and a brief check‑in. Rev. Nikky then led a formation session on Self‑Differentiated Leadership, drawing on the work of Dr. Murray Bowen. The discussion explored how leaders stay connected, set clear direction, and manage resistance while staying true to their own integrity even as they stay part of the group.

We reviewed progress on our vestry goals, including incorporating newcomers through the “Invite, Welcome, Connect” framework, strengthening our social media presence, and having mid‑week opportunities for connection. The Vestry also recognized recent campus improvements, including updates to the Edwards Hall storage area and the Children & Youth Formation Minister’s office, and shared appreciation for all who helped make Holy Week possible.

The preschool continues to move toward full enrollment, an encouraging milestone, even as staffing needs remain an ongoing challenge.

Treasurer Larry Mendoza reported that our finances remain stable. A small team has begun evaluating our financial account‑mapping processes to create cleaner books and improve the reconciliation process.

We ended our time together with Night Prayer.
