Confirmation is a sacramental rite in which one “express[es] a mature commitment to Christ, and receive[s] strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop” (BCP, p. 860). Those who have already been confirmed in another sacramental tradition (such as the Roman Catholic or Orthodox Churches) are Received into the Episcopal Church. Either way, these rites are performed by the Bishop and connect us to the wider Church.
We are beginning to prepare now for Bishop Lucinda’s visit with us in November. Anyone wishing to participate in these sacraments should contact Rev. Nikky no later than August 31 (nikky@sttims.org).
