Special Sunday:

This Sunday, August 30th, we combine our worship into one single service at 10:00 a.m.

Creationtide

Immersion in Living Water

This Sunday, we begin our recognition of Creationtide, running Sept. 1 – Oct. 4. Liturgically, we are still in the Season after Pentecost, but this ecumenical observance calls on Christians and people of faith everywhere to attend to our relationship with the Creator and all of creation through prayer, conversation, commitment, and amendment of life. It’s an opportunity to pay particular attention to our connection to all of that which God called good.

You will notice some different language in our liturgies this month, in acclamations and prayers, and particularly in the affirmation of faith and the version of the Lord’s Prayer we’ll be using at the 10:30am service. These come from an authorized Episcopal resource to help congregations engage in this period of reflection, and they invite us to encounter some familiar texts in new ways. For some, this will be refreshing, while for others it may be disconcerting. However you experience them, you’re invited to simply notice and be curious. May we all grow in our understanding of the One who made all things, and who calls us to stewardship of the world.
