Our September Vestry meeting started with the collect and a formation piece based on the book “The Day You Begin”, by Jacqueline Woodson. We reviewed progress on the three Vestry goals for this year – elements of Invite, Welcome, Connect are being implemented; social media posts continue and are turning towards Compassion Week; and there are no updates for mid-week connection points.
We discussed the reports. We are looking for ways to support our Treasurer. Rev. Nikky shared the preparations for our Stewardship Campaign. The Facilities Report covered ongoing maintenance, including Dave’s great effort to pressure wash the hardscape. In the Preschool Report, Jean shared progress with enrollment, hiring and onboarding teachers and attention to program development.
We reviewed the Capital Campaign Feasibility Study report from our consultant Richard Lynch. Based on the positive readiness findings, and after talking through hesitations related to this being a new-to-us process and the work involved with carrying out a campaign, the Vestry passed a motion to proceed with a Capital Campaign. The Vestry additionally passed a motion to engage Richard Lynch as our consultant for the Capital Campaign – his work on the feasibility study was very insightful and we are glad we can continue to work with him.
The meeting closed with thank yous and compline.
