That’s a quote from Sean Woodward, a member of the Santa Maria community. Sean described Santa Maria that way — not as a place that acted on his behalf, but as people who stood with him.
That distinction matters. Santa Maria doesn’t talk about its community members as beneficiaries or clients. Their stories are on the website — told in their own words, with their own names, because they chose to share them.
