This August, we welcome Louis Powell, Executive Director of Santa Maria Urban Ministry in San José, to preach and share with us. Santa Maria has been a neighbor in San Jose’s Guadalupe-Washington neighborhood since 1983 — a community organized around food and clothing distribution, adult education, ESL, tax preparation, health screenings, and youth programs.
Louis will preach on August 9 and will share more details at a forum after for anyone who wants to learn more and ask questions.
Between now and then, we’ll share a few glimpses of what Santa Maria’s community looks like, as a window into what it means to build something that lasts. We hope you’ll read along each week.
